The Renovations completed on the Irish Centre in 1973.
The 1970s as a decade mark a dark and violent time for Ireland, whilst they deal with the Troubles. We can see how the Irish Centre wanted to help ensure that the individuals in their community and their families felt supported through these conflicting times. We can see that after the events of Bloody Sunday in Derry on the 30th of January 1972, the Irish Centre held multiple Masses and vigils in remembrance of those whose lives were lost on the 30th of January 1972.
